Winnemucca Wine Walks Begin June 23rd

The Humboldt County Chamber of Commerce will begin their Wine Walk series on Saturday, June 23.  The Wine Walks continue the fourth Saturday of July and August.  Walk hours are 4-7pm each time.
The Wine Walks begin at the Chamber office where participants pick up their map, wristband and Winnemucca Wine Walk wineglass.
Door for ticket sales begin at 3:30pm: which will be sold until  5:30pm.
Participants must be 21 years old and show photo ID.  Admission is $20 for new walkers or $15 if walkers bring back their wineglass from the previous year.  Also at the Chamber office will be raffle sales for a table of tickets for the Harvest Hops and Grapes--The Chamber's annual beer and wine tasting fundraiser held in mid-October. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20.  A table for Hops and Grapes costs  $245 and seats eight--so it's worth a try!

This year, the Chamber of Commerce has a new project in mind for their Wine Walk profits--an electronic marquee!  The Chamber's old fashioned  "Welcome to Winnemucca" marquee has been a Winnemucca Boulevard fixture since the mid 70's and is regularly rented by businesses and individuals with messages for the community.
A digital sign would sit in the same place.  History buffs shouldn't worry... that old sign will find a place somewhere else in town.
The new digital sign will allow for more messages per day to be shown, and will be a great centerpiece for the busy downtown area.  In addition to any funds raised by the hosting Wine Walks, the Chamber  will be seeking sponsorships from area businesses to cover the estimated $40,000 cost of the sign and installation.
