On Tuesday, October 5th, Teya Brown, owner of Bare Beauty Boutique, did the honors and Mayor Di An  Putnam and  Members of the Chamber Board of Directors ushered in the new member.

Candidates Night

The Chamber hosted their bi-annual Candidates Night, with a record 220 in attendance.  Members of the Community were given the first hour to shake hands and ask their own questions in an informal format, and at 7:00 began a formal question and answer period, commentated by Chamber Director Theresa Mavity.  A one minute self introduction and then questions--posed by the community, and written on note cards--were asked of the candidates and each were given two minutes to answer.

Due to time constraints,  only 3-4questions  were asked of each candidate.  A  one-minute follow up was then allowed by each candidate for office.

The Humboldt County Chamber of Commerce does not endorse any political candidate for office, and we wish them all well.

Ribbon Cutting at Bella Grazia

A beautiful setting, good music, a nice bottle of wine, set the stage for Bella Grazia's official Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on Saturday, September 18th. 
Held at 5:00pm, a crowd, which included The Mayor of Winnemucca, Di An Putnam,  City Councilmen, Rich Stone and Paige Brooks,  Chamber Directors, Betty Lawrence, Bob Shaw and Robin Paul-Woolever,  joined owners and managers Jill and Eddy Dimock and Sherre and Tim Furrh, to raise their glasses high and wish them well as they snipped the ribbon.

Chamber luncheon and Customer Service Award

On Tuesday, September 14th, the General Membership luncheon was held at The Martin Hotel.

President Betty Lawrence presented Richard Casillas of Raleys the Customer Service Award.  He was nominated for going above and beyond what he needed to do to help a customer find that perfect item.

Bill Sims of the Humboldt Development Authority was the speaker for the luncheon, and talked about the Winnemucca Futures Project.

Monthly Chamber Events

Tuesday, September 14th-- Chamber Luncheon--The Martin Hotel, noon.

Winnemucca Futures Project will be the topic. Bill Sims from Humboldt Development Authority will be the speaker.

The Humboldt County Chamber of Commerce invites the public. Meet and Greet your candidates for public office 6-7. Question and answer forum begins at 7:00 pm.

Saturday, October 16th--14th Annual Harvest Hops and Grapes!

Event begins at 7:00pm. Appetizers and desserts served at 7:30pm

Tickets on Sale beginning, Tuesday, September 7th, at the Chamber office.

$32 per person or a table of 8 for $235.

The first 200 tickets sold are guaranteed a commemorative wine or pilsner glass.

Winnemucca Walk Walk

It just keeps getting bigger and better.

Winnemucca Wine Walks take place on the 4th Saturday of the month, July thru September, 4-7pm.

It's a great chance to visit stores and shops and see what they have going on, and also a great feeling of community as you stroll the sidewalks of downtown  Winnemucca visiting with old friends and making new ones.
